Brabus Crawler

PROJECT DETAILS

As part of a university module, I completed a solo project involving the detailed modelling, aerodynamic analysis, and rendering of a Brabus Crawler. This project required the use of advanced hybrid modelling techniques, fluid analysis software, and rendering tools to ensure accuracy and performance.

Key aspects of the Brabus Crawler project include:

  • Vehicle Modelling:
    • Utilized hybrid modelling techniques in SolidWorks to create a detailed model, including wheels, seats, and steering wheel from scratch.
    • Applied realistic textures and materials using KeyShot for high-quality rendering.
  • Aerodynamic Analysis:
    • Conducted fluid analysis using ANSYS to optimize the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance.
  • 3D Printing:
    • Optimized the model for 3D printing.
    • Printed using a Stratasys J850 polyjet 3D printer for precise, high-quality results.

My Role

As the sole designer, I was responsible for:

  • Creating the entire vehicle model using SolidWorks.
  • Conducting fluid dynamics analysis with ANSYS.
  • Texturing and rendering in KeyShot.
  • Optimizing and 3D printing the model.

This project enhanced my skills in advanced modelling, fluid analysis, and rendering, and provided practical experience in optimizing designs for manufacturing. The successful completion of the Brabus Crawler demonstrates my ability to deliver high-quality results in complex engineering projects.
